Murray vs Federer
The pair have clashed 23 times before with Federer holding a slender 12-11 lead. He’s also won the last 3 encounters; though they were all in 2014 when Murray was struggling to recapture his best form after injury. The pair have met in 4 grand slams with Federer leading that statistic 3-1, whilst it’s 1-1 on grass with Federer having won the 2012 Wimbledon Final, and Murray the Olympic Final. There’s much speculation that Federer will retire soon and, if that’s true, nothing would give him greater pleasure than winning another Wimbledon title before he does. Some say he’s too old but, having just broken the most consecutive service games record without being broken, you know he’s in great form. Murray is also in great form though and, with it being so hard to split the pair, it may be that this goes all the way to a 5th set. I fancy Federer just to edge it, too.
