Atletico Madrid to ‘Win to Nil’ @ 10/11 (1.91) with Betfred
A 0-0 draw in a home leg is usually deemed as a fairly reasonable result these days and given that PSV Eindhoven played the last quarter of the 1st leg with 10-men, they have to be reasonably happy in going to the Spanish capital all square.
However, Atletico Madrid are a formidable defensive outfit who have conceded a grand total of 15 goals in a combined 35 games in La Liga and the Champions League this season. Atleti had the better opportunities to score in the 1st leg and you would have to think that they will take at least one of their chances at the Vicente Calderon. One goal might be all they require, so dominant are they at the back.
It would be wrong to dismiss PSV. They did after all finish above Manchester United and CSKA Moscow in qualifying from the group stage. They did take just a single point from games at CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg and Manchester United though.
It’s also worth noting that of Atletico’s 27 victories in all competitions this season to date, no less than 21 of them have been without conceding a goal. That looks to be the best bet on this occasion too.
